Intermiel,
a family business.

Founded in St-Benoit de Mirabel in 1976 by Christian and Viviane Macle, young teachers who arrived from Picardie, a region in northern France. Their daughter Eleonore and her husband Cyril Lapeyrie are pursuing the same family passion.

A passion

Intermiel was born from the passion for beekeeping of its founders and their desire to share.

The company in business for 48 years is a real tourist pearl of the Laurentians, benefits from a well-established clientele and attracts more than 115 000 visitors each year.

It was in the 1980s that Intermiel launched its first range of honeys, opened its small beekeeping boutique and received its first visitors. As early as the 1990s, Intermiel was on the cutting edge by positioning itself as an agritourism company. Year after year, the company will diversify its most popular products, develop new ones and even launch its wide varieties of meads and spirits obtained from its own distillery. The quality and excellence of its products combined with the unifying corporate mission will allow Intermiel to experience real success with the public.

In 2006, Éléonore Macle, daughter of the founders, officially took over the company and added her vision, creativity and leadership to pursue the brand’s development plans. The year 2016 marks an important milestone as the company expands and inaugurates their brand new boutique and the API museum on beekeeping in Quebec, both, open all year round.

Intermiel attracts more than 115 000 visitors each year, with loyal customers since 1976.

For me, becoming an entrepreneur was innate. I was born that way.
After university, I worked two years abroad because I wanted to make a clear decision.
Taking over the family business was the most important decision of my life.
I am extremely proud to be able to continue the passion of my parents.
