Gourmet boutique

We began to welcome you in our family home towards the end of the 1970s. Today, it is always a sincere pleasure to invite you in our magnificent multi-sensory gourmet boutique open all year round, 7 days a week from 9 am to 5 pm. Our dynamic team welcomes you in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere for a captivating animation in order to make you live beautiful moments with your family and friends. You will find our wide range of varieties of honey, gourmet products, beehive products, our Apiflore care products, our maple syrup, maple products, not to mention our meads, maple alcohols, ice ciders, spirits and fine alcohols. Tastings of our products will please you with our honey bar and our liquor bar. We also have a bulk honey station. You can bring your Intermiel containers and at the same time do a nice gesture for the environment.

Tasting bar

With the design of our new multi-sensory gourmet boutique, it was so important for us to offer you the opportunity to taste our Intermiel products for free.

We offer you our wide range of honey, gourmet products, our different categories of maple syrup and certain maple products at our tasting bar. For our spirits bar, you can taste our range of meads, maple spirits, ice ciders, spirits and fine spirits.

A natural and unpasteurized honey yes, but do you prefer a sweet or more tasty honey, a liquid or a creamy honey or even crystallized and raw honey? A member of our wonderful team can inform you on the history of mead and even introduce you to a new cocktail recipe with our Honey Gin or our Honey Vodka. Having you taste our Intermiel products is essential to providing you with an exceptional customer service.

The discovery room

Whether you are simply discovering on your own or passing through our gourmet boutique, alone or with a group, we welcome you to discover or rediscover our “Discovery Room”. A playroom for the little ones (books on bees, puzzles on the mini-farm, etc.), a room with insect collections made with love by our favourite entomologist, a wooden bee and flower, explanatory panels without forgetting the most important, a wall of bees with 6 beehives in activity. You can try to find the queen and identify drones, observe bees with bee pollen on their hind legs and even witness the worker bee dance! A unique experience in order to better understand the world of bees. A magical and peaceful place to fully understand the interpretation of the bee and complete your stay at Intermiel!

Be aware, some hours, the room can be reserved for school groups or tourist visits.

API Museum

We are very happy to present our bilingual and permanent exhibition API – beekeeping in Quebec. A great collaboration with the project manager Mr. Pierre Giovenazzo from Laval University in Quebec city. A free modern museum on beekeeping to visit, open 7 days a week, all year round from 9 am to 5 pm. Come and discover our 21 most informative panels on local beekeeping. The history of beekeeping, information on the beekeeper’s profession, hive products, bee biology, challenges and realities of today, research and development… So many themes that mark out this journey in the Quebec beekeeping universe. You will learn about the impact of pesticides, the enemies and known diseases of bees without forgetting the section “did you know that…” You will also be able to answer the question “what does the beekeeper do according to the seasons” thanks to the beekeeping calendar. Rain or shine, the API Museum will appeal to children as well as adults from 6 to 101 years old! A great way to discover the art of beekeeping on you own at all times.

Distillery

It was in the year 2000 that we decided to diversify our alcoholic products, developing new ones and exploring the universe of spirits. We welcome you to our distillery open all year round, 7 days a week from 9 am to 5 pm. You can contemplate our majestic all copper still, a work of art from modern times, at any time. You can taste our first spirit distilled with our still, the Gélinotte made with our maple brandy. You will also have the chance to discover our range of eaux-de-vie (honey, maple and apple) as well as our Gin and Vodka 100% honey. Each product comes exclusively from raw materials from our farm and is produced directly at Intermiel, thus ensuring a perfect control of the quality of each of our different spirits. The main characteristics sought in our spirits are balance, finesse and originality. A “must” in the region to discover a one-of-a-kind distillery with exceptional raw materials produced exclusively from our farm.

Sunflower fields

This project was born from a childhood memory of Éléonore, daughter and successor of the Macle family, the founders of Intermiel. When she was little, at the end of Rang la Fresnière, there was a large field of sunflowers. Each year, Éléonore was completely hypnotized by the beauty of these large stems with huge yellow flowers at the end that follow the direction of the sun. Flowers that our bees enjoy visiting! During Spring 2019, chatting with a mother from daycare, the latter jokingly asked if she didn’t have a free field to grow sunflowers, since she imagined a beautiful photography project. Remembering her childhood dream, Éléonore agreed and since then visitors can admire our beautiful giant sunflowers. Every year, we now welcome visitors in September to our enchanting site to admire our fields of blooming giant sunflowers. The activity is free and reserved only for our boutique and guided tour customers. You can walk through the aisles with your family and friends, breathe in the fresh scent of this magnificent flower and take pictures surrounded by the most dazzling decor!

Mini Farm

Our family passion for animals has been obvious and natural since our arrival in the region in the 1970s. Visiting the animals at our mini farm is one of THE highlights of your visit at Intermiel. Reserved only for our boutique and guided tour customers, you are free to have a good time cuddling the rabbits, goats, lambs and other animals that are found under the same roof. Our mini farm is renowned in the region for a great attraction to keep young children and adults busy all year round. We are so happy to see the children spending beautiful moments petting the little animals with love and delicacy. Human contact with animals is a great therapy to forget about everyday worries and allow our beloved animals to be pampered. You will certainly fall in love with our adorable animals and even sometimes be present to witness newborn births. Magical moments to enjoy as a family.

Playground

The most important to us is to make you feel at home. Reserved only for our boutique and guided tour customers, you are free to have a great time having a picnic (unfortunately BBQ prohibited) and enjoying the animals outside as well as the playground. Take a breath of fresh air from our countryside ” Saint-Benoît de Mirabel” and have the children run in the grass. You can meet our majestic peacocks, sheep, mini horses, Serge the lama and other friendly friends. We share our land with you to create beautiful moments with family and friends. You can bring balls and small outdoor games. We have a few snacks available to nibble on at our boutique. The playground is the perfect safe place for children to have fun. A great distraction to complete your moment in our boutique or even before or after the guided tour.
